Well we had 134 emails in our inbox this morning asking “was Liz Taylor murdered”? The answer to this pathetic question is Elizabeth “Liz” Taylor was not murdered is is alive and well.
We did some research on this to try and figure out why so many internet users were under the impression that she was in fact murdered. Unsurprised, I found that there is a massive spam email being sent out to probably hundreds of thousands of people, disguised as an MSNBC breaking news email claiming that Liz Taylor was Murdered Tuesday Evening. The emails are titled: BREAKING NEWS” followed by headline “Elizabeth Taylor found murdered at home”.

The 76 tear old Elizabeth Taylor is fine we are happy to say, and this was just another pathetic person hiding behind internet proxies trying to make a few extra bucks but making up yet another fake story. If anyone has the headers from the spam email you got, please feel free to post them as a comment here for everyone to see.

Apparently a spam email is going around telling people to immediately goto creditunion1secure.com and update their account for security purposes. Note, that this is a fraudulent site and is not owned by credit union 1. This site is a scam. Whatever you do, do not enter any of your account details at this page. Creditunion1secure.com has been labeled as a phishing site.

Just came across another site being spammed via text message. Yourfriendstraded, located at Yourfriendstraded.com is the recent spam url. At least a few thousand people have been sent the text message telling them to check out Yourfriendstraded.com
Like we said before, Sending out mass text messages are pseudo-legal. There are not really any laws or regulations right now concerning sending text messages to people you do not know. It still stinks though because you will have to pay for the incoming text message and the spammer gets free advertising. What Yourfriendstraded.com will do is ask you to enter your email address, then they will continue to spam you by email.

Over the past 4-5 days or so I’ve noticed a lot of people have been asking about a website called PageMode.com. If you go to pagemode.com you will see that there is nothing there. It’s simple an empty domain parked to make money when people click the ads.
PagesMode.com (with the “s”) however is a real website that is in French. I don’t speak French but it appears as though the site is a directory of distributors and brands in France.
Why is everyone asking about PageMode.com though (without the “s”)? Maybe some of our readers can tell us by leaving a comment below. However it’s my guess that there is a massive spam going around telling people to go there. I don’t believe that it has anything to do with people trying to get to PagesMode.com (with the “s”), since 80% of the traffic directed to pagesmode is from France, and everyone looking for PageMode seems to be from the United States.
