Ok, this is one of the few times you will see me get angry. First, read this sign posted by the Christian Fellowship Church located in Amherst, NY.

Christian Fellowship Church - Amherst, NY
I’m not religious at all. I believe that people should be good for the sake of being good. Not because someones “god” says we should. This is just another reason I tend to stay away from religion. It is such a hypocritical sign! If you are one of these people that only help others, because “god” told you too, and not because it makes you feel good, or you just feel it’s the right thing to do then you really need to analyze your beliefs. The people who put this sign up should be ashamed of themselves, and the people who belong to this church need to go elsewhere. Just my opinion!
If anyone feels like contacting this church to let them know how you feel about their sign, their website is http://cfcamherst.org/youngadults.htm.
Amen!

The 4th named storm of the 2009 Hurricane Season is upon us. Tropical Storm Danny, soon to be Hurricane Danny is packing wind speeds of only 45 Miles per hour at the time of this post. Having said this, Danny should be watched extremely carefully if you are living anywhere on the US East Coast. Below is an up to the minute prediction map from the National Hurricane Center in Miami for where they think the storm may be headed.

In my opinion this sotrm bares mroe watchign than others this year. Some models have been predicting this to become a major hurricane and then possibly strike an area that has not seen a major storm in generations, the New York City area including possibly New Jersey, Bostomn, and New England. Of course it is way too early to make any prediction with accuracy, but this hurricane has the potential of become a very costly one. It may be a matter of 50-100 miles which could determine if we have another storm that goes out to sea harmlessly, or one that may in fact cause billions of dollars in damage.
If Hurricane Danny were to go into Manhattan as a major storm, and run up the east coast up through New England, we could be even talking about over a Trillion dollars in damage, not to mention the likelihood of a nationwide economic meltdown. The chances of this are slim, but they do exist with this storm. Will Danny be just another forgotten hurricane, or will it be one for the record books like Katrina? We will know within days most likely.

Today, A man named Jiverly Voong committed a tragedy which will go down as one of the worse in a long time. Jiverly, also known as Linh Phat Voong, a 41 year old man from Johnson City, NY, originally from Vietnam murdered at least 13 people and injured several other today in Binghamton New York.

Earlier today Mr Jivery Voong walked into the Binghamton New York American Civic Association building with a rifle. He took shot and killed over a dozen innocent people, and took several others hostage. Estimates have it that Voong took over 40 people hostage, and the damage could have been worse had the Swat team not acted when they did.. Jivery is an alias he goes by, but it is speculated his real first name is Linh Phat. When authorities called a home of Juvery’s sister, the women said that she thinks he was a victim and not the actual shooter, pointing out that he didn’t have a gun. Authority seem pretty certain however that Mr Voong was the gunman, who later killed himself with a single gunshot wound to the head. Binghamton is a medium sized town in of 47,000 people located in Northern New York state, about 140 miles northwest of New York City. The town is obviously shaken by this terrible crime, and will take years to recover.
