Hurricane Danny in NYC?

Category: Uncategorizedadmin @ 11:13 am

The 4th named storm of the 2009 Hurricane Season is upon us.  Tropical Storm Danny, soon to be Hurricane Danny is packing wind speeds of only 45 Miles per hour at the time of this post. Having said this, Danny should be watched extremely carefully if you are living anywhere on the US East Coast. Below is an up to the minute prediction map from the National Hurricane Center in Miami for where they think the storm may be headed.

Hurricane Danny

In my opinion this sotrm bares mroe watchign than others this year. Some models have been predicting this to become a major hurricane and then possibly strike an area that has not seen a major storm in generations, the New York City area including possibly New Jersey, Bostomn, and New England. Of course it is way too early to make any prediction with accuracy, but this hurricane has the potential of become a very costly one. It may be a matter of 50-100 miles which could determine if we have another storm that goes out to sea harmlessly, or one that may in fact cause billions of dollars in damage.

If Hurricane Danny were to go into Manhattan as a major storm, and run up the east coast up through New England, we could be even talking about over a Trillion dollars in damage, not to mention the likelihood of a nationwide economic meltdown. The chances of this are slim, but they do exist with this storm. Will Danny be just another forgotten hurricane, or will it be one for the record books like Katrina? We will know within days most likely.
