Today, even though the Superbowl was big news, the top question we got in our Profilesblog inbox was… “What is ChatToText.” Being that I am a internet blogger, who is constantly sifting through data on the latest news, I have recently heard of ChatToText, and did a rather long read up on them.
ChatToText, located at ChatToText.com is a Facebook application that allows users to quickly and easily send you a phone text message via your Facebook profile. There has not been any other application like it to date. In fact the application which just launched a few days ago, already has close to 5,000 users. Unlike most Facebook apps though, this one charges a fee, and has probably spread as rapidly as it has due to the fact that they offer an incentive for getting others to pay the $6 signup fee.
This is how the affiliate program for ChatToText works:
Pay $6 to purchase the application. Then refer a friend or multiple friends. Each direct referral you send to ChatToText who also pays the $6 to purchase the application, you will get $2 commission. Now, each person that those friends refer will get you another Twenty five cents. Each person they refer will get you another twenty five cents as well, and this keeps going down 8 levels deep. The potential is there to earn quite a bit of affiliate commission if you refer just a few friends.
ChatToText is setup like an MLM (Multi Level Marketing Opportunity). Thus there may be a lot of unwarranted praises of the Facebook app. Having said this, we did check out the reviews, and currently there are quite a few members having problems with the application itself. We are waiting to see how ChatToText Representatives respond to these complaints.
