We just got word that there is a Zicam recall. Zicam, a drug that is part of the Matrixx Initiatives, Inc. line of products makes primarily cold, flu and allergy rememdy products. We have been in contact with the company and have some very vague information on the recal thus far.
The FDA, Food and Drug Administration today stated that the Zicam nasal spray can permanently damage a users sense of smell. In the last 10 years there have been 130 consumers who have used the Zycam nasal spray product report a long term loss of smell, which may be permanent. Because of this the company has been forced to issue a recall on the nasal spray as well as related products which I assume include the various types of nasal sprays.
Influence on Zicam
Clearly this is a major recall, and one that will potentially kill the bottom line for the Zycam line. We are tryign to get in contact with Matrixx Initiatives, however have had no luck thus far. A note on the Matrixx website states the following about the problems with the spray, “No plaintiff has ever won a court case, because there is no known causal link between the use of Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gel and impairment of smell.”
As I hear more info on this I will update this post for you all. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any further info. I want to add that from personal experience I have never had any issues with this nasal spray and have used it on and off for years. My smell is still with me.

This makes perfect sense when Obamas health director stated on record that all children this fall will be vaccinated with the toxic laden experimental h1n1 vaccine.
