Flurge, Flerg, Flerj – Huh?

Category: Uncategorizedadmin @ 12:15 am

Alright well before I goto bed I noticed my inbox was exploding with new email questions. This time it was about a mysterious word, Flurge, which is also sometimes spelled flerge or flirj. Anyhow, I am unsure why everyone is suddenly emailing me about these flurge words, but I decided to do some research:

So what does Flurge, or Flerg mean:
Flurge – A cross between flush and purge
“I flurged the wax from my ears.”

As for a reason why these odd, words (can I even say words since they are not listed in the Webster dictionary?) are being wondered about, I honestly have no clue. I am guessing maybe a tv show or something. If you have any further info on the words Flurge, Flerg, Flerj or why they are being looked up all of the suddebn, please leave a blog comment and I will fill everyone in via email.

The word “flurge” was on SNL last night. Amy Poehler/Hilary Clinton said, “Stop calling me a flurge. I looked up what it stands for and I do not like it.”

  5. Kizzle says:

On Saturday night live last night, Tina Fey (as Sarah Palin) and Amy Poehler (as Hillary Clinton) had a press conference to address sexism in politics. Palin said she was sick of being called pretty, beautiful and a MILF. Then Clinton said she was sick of being called a flurge, shrewd and a boner shrinker. Thats why I googled flurge…

  6. Flurge says:

I don’t know how to spell it but it’s from Saturday Night Live last night (Palin/Clinton sketch).

  7. Sdub says:

On Saturday Night Live 9/13/08, there was a line where Hillary Clinton referred to herself as a FLIRJ. She said that “she Googled it, and that she didn’t appreciate it”

I read in another blog comment that it stands for “First Lady I’d Rim J__”

  8. If you spell it FLERG... says:

1.) The state of a man’s penis when it is not erect.

    2.) The foreskin of a man’s penis.
“man, that cold water sure gave me a flerg”

“aww dude, that bunk chick turned my wood to a flerg”

  9. Flirge says:

Yes, the Clinton character said everyone should stop calling her a flurge (flirj, flirge, etc). This was in close proximity in the writing to Palin’s character referring to herself as a milf causing there to be speculation the two are related.

  10. Gene Neric says:

In the SNL skit, the words MILF and flerg were applied to Palin and Hillary respectively.

flerg is apparently the opposite of an erection.

  11. Redundant says:

It was on SNL the other night during a Clinton Palin sketch. Wait am I the 20th person to mention this?

  12. Michael Ostomy says:

Someone should check on this before we jump to any conclusions, but I believe the term may have been used on “Saturday Night Live.”

  13. flurge-meister says:

Yeah yeah. Amy Poelher used it in the SNL skit, and the Urban Dictionary says that it’s a cross between “flush” and “purge”.

I still don’t get it. There are many humorous ways to talk about Hillary, but I’m not sure that cleaning out ear wax really makes any valid point. Palin/ Fey as a MILF? Now THAT makes sense!!

I’m still not getting the flurge thing though.

  14. otti says:

i hear FLIRG stands for FIRST LADY IS REALLY GAY and FLURG means someone who makes a man to lose his erction…go figure

  15. Gregg says:

    Found this one:

FLIRGE First Lady I’d Rather Get Elected (as apposed to have sex with)

  16. One-Who-Can-Read says:

Does anybody read comments before posting comments? Do we really need 13 different people pointing out the SNL skit to know it was from an SNL skit? I’m kinda thinking 1 was enough.

I must admit, I too felt compelled to point out the skit… Until I saw that somebody already had, followed by another, and another, and another, and…

Was it a case of “the whole internet will think I’m dumb if I don’t answer too”? Geez

  17. Flerg says:

Given the context, ‘flerg” would be the correct spelling.

    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=flerg

In the SNL skit, flerg is used in contrast to the adjectives used to describe Sarah Palin (pretty, sexy, MILF). In its context, it can be seen as synonymous with ‘boner shrinker.’

  18. David Drummond says:

The one I have seen that makes the most sense in the context of Hillary Clinton is FLIRGE

…First Lady I’d Rather Get Elected.

    Heh. Word.

  19. kkesler says:

yeah the snl thing was a F.H.L.I.R.G.

whis is a F*ck Her Like Its a Real Girl.

for anyone who goes in and or around the gay drag community will recognize this expression. it means to find a drag queen who still bores resblance of a man, or a “stag-drag” throw her on her back and procide to have intercourse with her (er well him.)

this joke was highly funny due to the fact i work in a gay bar, and there was a bigger i imagine it would in other places where the expression isnt widley used.

  20. Katheryn Rowell says:

I read it meant FLRJ “first lady rim job” like Milf

  21. Swami says:

FLIRGE (n.): First Lady I’d Rather Get Elected

  22. Christopher. says:

This word was most recently brought up in a skit on SNL portraying Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. “Clinton” was alluded to being called a flurge by viewers, and then said she googled it and didn’t like it. You tube the video, it’s sure for a laugh. I hope that this helped.

  23. Gabe Newman says:

    Just FLURGE it!!!

  24. Bruce says:

We can discount the politicos trying to use this forum to support the “get elected” interpretation. It directly contradicts the context, in which Clinton points out how desperately she wants the job. As such, she would LOVE such a name. After her complaint she immediately uses a virtual synonym, “boner shrinker”, for the shrunken penis interpretation. Come on, that’s a lock!
