Well, As most of you know, today is the unlucky day, Friday the 13th. This Friday is the only Friday is the only Friday this year which falls on the 13th day of the month. Every Year there are either 1, 2, or 3 Friday the 13th’s. This year being one of the better years, if you believe in superstitions, having just one.
Believe it or not, most of the superstitions which have developed around Friday the 13th has been fairly recent. Having said this, there are some links to ancient times which are the roots of the superstition.
- In numerology, the number twelve is considered a complete number, as seen in the twelve months of the year, twelve recognized signs of the zodiac, the twelve tribes of Israel, etc, whereas the number 13 was considered irregular. There is also a superstition, thought by some to derive from the Last Supper, that having thirteen people seated at a table will result in the death of one of the diners.
- Friday, is the day on which Christ was crucified, has been viewed both positively and negatively among Christians. Since it does represent Christ’s death there is a clear understand why the roots may stem from his death.
The recent books and movies have really turned the volume up on the day. The day itself is more of a ploy of marketing then an actual historical root based superstition.

If You have been watching the news and paying attention to whats going on in California, you probably would have heard about the Humboldt fires taking place as we write this. The fires have left at least 18,000 California residents without power, and threaten thousands of homes. The Humboldt Fire, which has now consumed 8,000 acres is reportedly only 13% under control according to local fire officials. Over sixty firefighters took off for Northern California to help battle the Humboldt Fire in Butte County yesterday, and continue to battle the blaze today, which has over 1200 homes and business’s in its path.
We will try and update residents along the path of the Humboldt fires later this evening if we can get a hold of further information. We have relatives very close by who have been calling us every 2 hours, as they may have to evacuate later this evening.
A Website that has been spreading throughout the internet today is one paid for by “Obama for America”. The website is Called Fight the Smears. I stumbled upon Fightthesmears.com while reading a political blog on Obama this morning. All I can say is that it sure as heck is a good site for people who have been believing all the rabid lies being told about Barack Obama.
We are in the internet age. This is the first election where the internet is playing a major role in the outcome. With the internet there is all sorts of smear tactics from supporters of both campaigns. Misconceptions and lies abound, and become so popular they are accepted as truth. Some of the lies which have been accepted by many as fact are:
- Barack Obama is hiding his birth Certificate.
- Michelle Obama is video taped giving a speech where she blames all the blacks problems on Whitey
- Obama is a Muslim

Ok, well you have all probably seen by now the Obama girl videos, with this sexy girl singing and cheering for Obama. The Obama girl has become famous practically over night and has been on numerous TV shows. Whats Next,? Of course, The Incredible McCain Girl. The McCain girl plays on a spoof of the Incredible Hulk. The newest video which you can watch below depicts the female John McCain fan as an Incredible hulk like character and the video is made like a movie trailer. In the clip the McCain Girl knocks Obama off the stage, and then Obama Girl comes running in, presumably to the rescue, but thats when the video shuts off. I’m sure the politicians themselves are sure enjoying these videos, which with the help of the internet have become extremely viral. I’m sure there will be a sequel to the video below. When? Who really knows.
If you haven’t heard about Filemon Trevino and his Electrocardiograma Artistico, then I’m sure you will be a lot over the next coming day. This guy is simply amazing, and has done a piece of work that will amaze you even more. Filemon Trevino has just entered the Guinness book of world records for his pencil drawling.
The Electrocardiograma Artistico, as it’s called is Trevino’s record shattering pencil drawling which spans a quarter mile long, has taken him 6,000 hours to complete over a span of 250 days, and has been the cause of a hospital stay. You see, Tevino worked tirelessly on this drawling and even got dehydrated due to the fact that he would not step away long enough to even get a drink on some occasions. 800 pencils were used to complete it Tevino’s representation of the heart and circulatory system. Electrocardiograma Artistico is displayed at Rgiomontana University in Monterrey, Mexico. The actual piece of work was started in July 2004, and completed in August of 2005, however the record could not be applied for until recently.

Well, This summer season has started out pretty crazy weather wise. It actually isn’t summer yet, and some locations in the Northeast US have reported 100+ degree temperatures. This crazy weather is responsible for spawning a very violent and deadly tornado in Manhattan. Not Manhattan New York, but a Town called Manhattan Kansas.
Two people were confirmed dead in this tragic storm. Buildings at Kansas State University were also damaged, some quite badly. They have canceled classes for the day at least while they evaluate how severe the damage really is. We do know that a fraternity house on the campus had it’s roof torn off by the storm. Reports say that they had to bring at least 12 ambulances into this Kansas town just to take care of those injured by the tornado. In the city of Chapman, which is located Southwest of Manhattan, there are reports that over 60 homes have been completely demolished by the tornado.
Ok I thought I’ve seen a lot of crazy, wild, and cool tattoos in my life, but none will ever beat this one. This tattoo is on a UFO fanatics body, and when I say Body, I mean, his entire body. The domain name Secretphotoswaps.com advertised on Myspace via spam messages as Secretphotoswaps is the latest in a string of related websites to spam the heck out of myspace members. They will tell you that someone has uploaded a photo of you at Secretphotoswaps.com, and that you must goto their website and login. Once at the site you will be instructed to enter your personal details such as name, email address, and friends email address in order to login and remove your photo.
The problem is that Secretphotoswaps is just a scheme used to collect peoples email address’s and continue to spam them offers so that the owners of that site can become rich. If you got a myspace message telling you to goto this website, immediately ignore it and don’t believe what they tell you. This is probably the 8th website in about 2 weeks to try and full people into entering their personal email details at their site.
Alright, I thought I heard everything on fox news, but I guess I was wrong once again. It is pretty clear to most people that Fox has an agenda of sorts, and it certainly is not to see Barack Obama walk away as the next President of the United States of America. The latest Phrase used on Fox news on Friday by E.D Hill describing the Fist pound that Barack gave to his Wife Michelle right before he announced that he locked up the nomination of the democratic party is the “Terrorist Fist Jab”. Here is an excerpt from the show:
HILL: “A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently. We’ll show you some interesting body communication and find out what it really says. ”
I mean get real! How the heck does one come up with such a moronic baseless phrase? What basis is given for it? Does this mean that the 3 guys I greeted at the Gym today with a similar Terrorist fist jab happen to be disguised Al Qaeda operatives? Heck I guess I must be a terrorist as well, since I’m Jewish I guess Al Qaeda is out of the question, but maybe some sort of Jewish radical terrorist. Huh? For anyone who is under the age of 40 they probably already understand the meaning. Its the same as a handshake, but with more excitement.
